David (B.Com; Msc. Marketing; PhD) is a World Bank Institute trained CSR professional with over 10 years’ experience. He is a certified CSR trainer for International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF), and Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). He is Chairman of Sales & Marketing Compliance Committee of Nile Breweries Ltd (a subsidiary of SABMiller Plc. – the second largest brewery in the world). David has consulted for government of Uganda on issues of trade facilitation, negotiations and sustainability.
Specifically for CSR, David has consulted for United States Agency for International Development (USAID), European Union funded projects, World Bank, German International Cooperation (GIZ), and International Organization for Standardization (ISO 26000 pilot project) as well as United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) ahead of the 2016 UN’s Assembly for High Level Political Platform (HLPF).
David is a contributor to several books notably:
- World Guide to CSR: A Country by Country Analysis of Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility.
- World Guide to Sustainable Enterprises.
- CSR in Sub-Saharan Africa: Sustainable Development in its Embryonic Form.
He edited Amazon’s selling book, ‘Principles of CSR: A guide for students and practicing managers in developing and emerging countries.’
He has published in several journals including in International Journal of Social Economics (IJSE).David has won several international research grants including ;Netherlands’ NWO WOTRO.
David is the Chairman of the UCCSRI; and is a Senior Lecturer and Team Leader, “Office for Coordination of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Studies” at Makerere University Business School (MUBS).
